The Client Portal is its own item in the sidebar. It is for insurance and realtor accounts. Agency client accounts are managed on the Clients page instead.
What clients see
Clients with a portal login see the documents you share with them. On insurance accounts they also see a coverage card with a read-only summary of their policy. Clients can send documents to you from the same page.
Invite a client
Invites start on the contact, not on the Client Portal page:
- Open the contact.
- In the Client Portal card, pick Send invite by: Email or Text.
- Select Invite.
The card shows the status of the contact: Not invited, Invite sent, Active, or Access revoked. Use Resend to send the invite again. Use Revoke to end their access right away. You can invite them again later.
You need an email address on the contact to send by email, and a phone number to send by text.
How clients sign in
Clients sign in with a 6-digit code. They do not need a password. They choose Email me a code or Text me a code, and only the channels on file are offered. The code expires after a few minutes. If it does not arrive, they can resend it after a short wait, or choose a different method.
If the invite link is no longer valid, the client sees a message to ask their agent for a new invite.
Share documents
Clients only see documents you share. On the contact page, turn on Share with client for each document they should see. Documents a client sent you are marked From client.
Turning sharing off hides the document from the client's portal. Files you have not shared are never shown to the client.
Client uploads
Documents clients upload through their portal are listed on the Client Portal page under Client uploads. Each row shows the client's name, a New label, the file name, and the date. Select Open contact to review the file on the contact.
Select Mark all seen to clear the New labels. Clients can upload PDF, JPG, PNG, DOC, DOCX, or TXT files up to 25 MB each.
When a client upload is waiting, a bell alert appears in the top bar with a link to the Client Portal. The alert checks for new uploads every few minutes.
